Since our inception in Year 2000, JN Small Business Loans (JNSBL), a member company of The Jamaica National Group, has played an active role in the development of small businesses in Jamaica; and has positively impacted the countryโ€™s economic growth, as reflected in the number of jobs created in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector.

We celebrated our 19th anniversary in October, and continue to make a positive contribution to MSMEs.

As a corporate entity, our responsibility is to continue to grow the MSME sector. Therefore, our philosophy at JNBSL is to assist Jamaicans to operate their own businesses, and grow the employment pool, which has contributed to the creation and maintenance of almost 200,000 jobs.

These jobs have been created in a wide range of sectors, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Beauty Care
  • Fashion
  • Retail
  • Craft
  • Food and hospitality

We recognize that these prime sectors have the potential to sustainably grow our economy, while continuing to generate employment. According to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the companies in this sector provide some 90 percent of jobs in the economy. And, we are pleased to be a part of this growth pattern.

Through our 30 locations in all 14 parishes across Jamaica, we have been able to visit our ย clients to facilitate โ€œon-location,โ€ discussions, about their expansion plans and assist them with the timely processing of loan applications. This is due largely to you our hardworking Client Relations Officers who continue to interact with our customers daily. And, over the years, JNSBL has also increased its engagement with the sector by partnering with various stakeholders to increase its presence among entrepreneurs. Some of these partnerships include: CB Foods in their Pan Chicken competition for several years, Red Stripe and other entities.

Also, our signature event, JNSBL Barber and Beauty Battle has unlocked the abundance of talent in the Jamaican beauty industry. Many entrants have now established their own operations, created more employment, and their positive stories fuel our efforts in our drive to enhance the countryโ€™s economy.

And, many of our clients have expressed their appreciation for the assistance which JNSBL provided to assist them to grow their business, over the years. It is our desire to engage all of our clientsโ€ฆfrom the bag juice vendor to those who manufacture. Why? Because, we believe that every entrepreneur we assist is a business person, who will contribute to the growth of the economy. Therefore, JNSBL is committed to the sector, and by extension, to the development of Jamaica.

This is why we say thank you to all the members of our team. We could not have done it without you!
