In keeping with its promise to provide its members with lower fees and better value, JN Bank announced that it has discontinued some in-branch fees including, minimum balance and maintenance fees on deposits in savings accounts. Mrs. Hayden-Cater, said that the removal of the fees are part of the company’s strategy to make banking services more accessible to everyone and to improve the banking experience for Jamaicans.

Chair of the evening, Miss Onika Miller, Managing Director of the MCS Group, the non-financial arm of The Jamaica National Group, reminded the public sector about their worth to the Jamaican economic landscape and their importance to the country’s day to day operations.

The recently held Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) "Beginners Guide: The Art of Buying and Selling Shares" workshop, at the Knutsford Court Hotel, was oversubscribed and the organisers are attributing this to market’s exemplary performance over the past two years. Mr. Neville Ellis, Marketing Manager of the JSE, said the oversubscription to the stock market training programme was a measure of the increasing interest in shares. “This stock market introductory course has been tremendously successful,” Mr. Ellis said. “We planned to accommodate 120 participants in the programme, and we had to turn away some applicants.”
