New Year’s Message From Mr. Jerrold Johnson, Chief Representative Officer, JN Canada Representative Office

Tue 02 Jan, 2018

The management and staff of the Jamaica National Canada Representative Office wish our valued members and customers a Happy New Year!

The year 2017 was a productive one for our organisation, as The Jamaica National Group introduced new products and services; and continued to improve our customer experience.

We embarked on new initiatives designed to increase our customer base and reach more persons in Canada. This was achieved through the hosting of our first JN Group Canada Expo, in Brampton. Some 6,000 Canadians, mainly Jamaicans residing in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, and Ottawa attended the expo.

They benefitted from a wealth of information targeted to inform them about housing developments in Jamaica. We also showcased services offered by critical government agencies, such as the National Land Agency, the Passport Immigration Agency, the Registrar General Department, Jamaica Trade and Invest (JAMPRO) and our corporate partners in housing development and real estate.

In the New Year, we plan on expand the expo to Montreal and Ottawa for its second staging in April 2018. We look forward to seeing you at these events, as we showcase critical Jamaican services and real estate opportunities.

Last year, we also opened our second virtual office in Brampton, this initiative was driven by your call for us to have a presence in a highly concentrated Jamaican-Canadian community; and to provide more convenient locations to you, our members. We plan on expanding to other locations; hence, we encourage you to listen out for information about this initiative.

In 2017, we remained true and loyal to the community; and supported several worthy causes, such as: Soccerfest 2017. This event provided scholarships and bursaries to Canadian and Jamaican students attending colleges and universities in their respective countries. We also partnered with the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf Alumni Association, in Canada, to host its first fund-raising dinner, which provided computers for the school in Jamaica.

Other partnerships included those with the Wolmer’s Alumni Association and the SDA Church of Malton in respect of their entrepreneurship expo.

We look forward to 2018, as we will strive to engage you in more meaningful ways; and assist you to grow financially.

To you, our valued members, we hope that the New Year will be a glorious one; and will bring you rewards in all your future endeavours!

Mr. Jerrold Johnson,

Chief Representative Office
