2018 NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM

 MR. LEON HAMILTON

CHIEF REPRESENTATIVE OFFICER

JN UK REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE

The management and staff of the JN UK Representative Office wish our valued members and customers a Happy New Year!

The New Year is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts however, it is also a time for us to reflect on our accomplishments, our shortcomings and determine what we will improve in 2018.

On February 1, 2017, we welcomed the restructuring of our parent organisation, in Jamaica, The Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), as it officially became The Jamaica National Group, with two holding companies responsible for its financial and non-financial entities, respectively. And, those significant changes bode well for the future of our Representative Office, here in the United Kingdom.

Naturally, there were many other high points throughout the year, including: the celebration of Jamaica 55, recognising 55 years of Jamaican Independence; working with The Voice newspaper during is 35th anniversary, to honour Dr. The Hon. Usain St. Leo Bolt and Dr. the Hon. Glen Mills, at a Charity Dinner and Auction; our participation in the Jamaica 55 Diaspora 2017 Conference, in Kingston; "I Love Jamaica Day," here in the UK; and many other events.

Charity Dinner and Auction: This was a stellar event, which The Voice Newspaper hosted in concert with the JN Bank, to honour the legendary Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt and his coach Glen Mills and to raise funds for the continued development of athletics in Jamaica. Proceeds raised from this event were donated to Racer's Track Club to continue their  development of talented young athletes in Jamaica.

The Diaspora Conference: Our JN UK Representative Office led a delegation to the Jamaica 55 Diaspora 2017 Conference, which was held at the Conference Centre in Kingston, under the theme “Partnering for Growth."

"I Love Jamaica Day": Last year was our third staging of “I Love Jamaica Day, which brought together hundreds of Jamaicans, persons of Jamaican heritage and Britons to celebrate 55 years of Jamaican Independence and to explore housing and other developments in their homeland.

Patrons explored real estate offerings, in the expo mounted by Jamaican housing developers, including: Gore Homes, Moorlands Development, West Indies Home Contractors and Coldwell Bankers and learned how JN Bank, the leading private mortgage provider in Jamaica, can assist persons lving in the UK to own properties in Jamaica.

For the JN Bank UK Representative team, much of last year was spent on dedicated efforts to assist members to continue the flow of funds from the UK to their JN Bank accounts in Jamaica as well as connecting them to alternate channels to access the JN Bank service. We are pleased to have been successful in both regards and these will certainly remain key goals for 2018.

Throughout the year, we continued to engage JN members in the UK through our mobile unit; as we delivered service to your communities, We are grateful for all these opportunities as well as the many occasions to celebrate with our members and participate in different causes throughout the UK. Particularly, we had the opportunity to recognize different members, including some of our foundation members, such as Agnes McKen with whom we were able to celebrate her 103rd birthday.

The year 2018 marks 30 years of operations in the United Kingdom and we will be hosting a number of events to celebrate and to thank our members. As we move forward in 2018, we will endeavour to engage our members in more meaningful ways and continue to assist you to "find a way," to grow financially!

May this New Year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements; and new inspirations to enjoy your life.

Mr.Leon Hamilton,
