    How is interest calculated on my JN First Class account?

    Your interest is calculated daily and applied to your principal at the end of your savings term of either 180 days or 365 days.

    Is the interest on my money in my JN First Class account taxed?

    Yes.  The interest on your savings is subject to a withholding tax of 25%.

    Can I withdraw funds whenever I need it from my JN First Class account?

    No. Your JN First Class account is a fixed savings account, which means you must agree to save for a specified period of time to realise the maximum interest offered on your savings. You can choose to save for the maximum period of 180 or 365 days. In keeping with the terms of your agreement with us, your account will be closed if a withdrawal is made before your savings have matured and a penalty of six months interest will be applied.

    How can I check the balance in my JN First Class account without visiting a branch or Money Shop?

    Banking with JN is convenient and easy. You can check the balance in your account at your convenience using our online banking platform JN LIVE. To register, visit www.jnbslive.com.

    Can I transfer funds from JN First Class account to other accounts online?

    Your JN First Class account is a high-yielding savings account, which is intended for new funds/deposits only to JN Bank. It is a fixed account, which means you must agree to save for a specified period of time to realize the maximum interest offered on your savings. Therefore, transferring funds from your JN First Class account online, which is the same as making a withdrawal, is not allowed under the terms of the agreement.

    Can I borrow against funds in my JN First Class account to access a loan from JN Bank?

    Yes you can. You may use the savings in your account to secure a Term Share Loan from JN Bank. You can borrow up to 80% of what you have saved.

    Can I open my JN First Class account at a JN MoneyShop?

    Yes, you may visit any JN MoneyShop to open your account. Visit our ATM/ Branch Locator page to find your closest JN MoneyShop or branch and opening hours.

    What additional benefits can I access from the JN Group by having a JN First Class account?

    Yes, you can access a wide range of discounts at other companies in the JN Group, such as the Jamaica Automobile Association and JN General Insurance Company; and, you can use your JN ATM card to access discounts from nearly 200 merchants who are a part of the JN Rewards programme.
