The JN Group, through the JN Bank Canada Representative Office and JN Money Services Canada, has collaborated with the Consulate General of Jamaica in Toronto to strengthen relief efforts for communities in Jamaica devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
As part of the partnership, the JN Bank Representative Office and JN Money locations across Canada are serving as official drop-off points for relief supplies, offering Canadians and others reliable channels to support recovery efforts in Jamaica.
The initiative comes as Jamaica continues to grapple with the aftermath of the Category 5 hurricane, which caused unprecedented damage to homes, schools, businesses and community infrastructure.
Monique Broughton, Chief Representative Officer at the JN Bank Representative Office, welcome the opportunity to partner with the Consulate in its recovery efforts.
โRecovering from Hurricane Melissa will require all hands on deck. Collaboration between government, businesses and the diaspora is essential to ensure relief reaches those who need it most and that Jamaica can rebuild stronger and faster. People can come into our location to drop off priority relief items for the Consulate, including hygiene supplies, non-perishable foods, baby essentials and medical items. All donated supplies will be transported through coordinated efforts led by the Consulate General and humanitarian partners for distribution in the hardest-hit communities,โ she said.
Ms Broughton added that the collaboration demonstrates the strength and unity of the Jamaican-Canadian community during a time of national crisis.
โThis partnership ensures that anyone in Canada wanting to help have convenient, reliable channels to contribute,โ she said, adding that the combined network will allow for wider reach and faster mobilisation of aid.
