Local Applicants (Residents):

  • Fully Completed CIF for all applicants
  • Proof of Residential Address (recent utility bill, bank statement, other official mail, property tax receipt, lease agreement or rent receipt (rent receipts should indicate clearly the address of the property))
  • Proof of Employment (letter from employer, recent pay slip)
  • Current & Valid Identification
  • Tax payer Registration Number (TRN) OR Jamaican Driver’s licence bearing this number
  • Name & Telephone Contact of 2 Character References
  • Completed Account Signature Card
  • Completed Self Employment Verification Form

* If a child below 16 years is to be added to this account, the child’s Birth Certificate is required.

Overseas Applicants (Non-Residents):

  • Fully Completed CIF for all applicants
  • 2 Proof of Residential Address (Notarized copy of recent utility bill or bank statement)
  • Proof of Employment (letter from employer, recent pay slip)
  • 2 Current & Valid Identifications duly notarized. (For Non-Jamaicans, at least one (1) ID must be a passport or permanent resident card)
  • 2 Completed Character Reference Form (Non-Jamaicans need at least 1 referral from a reputable financial institution)
  • Notarized copy of Birth Certificate for Minors and Non-Jamaicans
  • Notarized copy of your Tax Number
  • Completed Account Signature Card
  • Letter detailing instructions to JN Bank to establish new account and any additional instructions. (Include your choice of savings and reason for opening account in Jamaica in letter)
  • Completed Self Employment Verification Form
  • Completed Self Certification Form (Individual)

If the original documents are presented to the UK Rep Office, do not need to be notarized.

How is interest calculated on my Long-term Savings Account?

Your interest is calculated daily and applied annually.

Is the interest on money in my JN Long-term Savings Account taxed?

The interest on your savings is tax-free if you save for the fixed five-year term. All other savings tenures are subject to withholding taxes.

How can I check the balance in my JN My Future account without visiting a branch or MoneyShop?

Keeping track of your savings in your Long-term Savings Account account is easy with JN. You can check the balance in your account, anywhere and anytime by registering for JN LIVE Text Banking. To register, visit a JN branch, where a member service representative will take you through the process. You will be asked to complete a form and to provide an ‘Account Alias’. After you’ve registered, you’ll receive a card with the easy steps on how to check your account balance using our text service.

Can I transfer funds from my JN My Future account to other accounts online?

Funds may not be transferred from a BeWise account to any other JN Bank account via online banking.

Can I borrow against funds in my JN My Future account to access a loan from JN Bank?

No, you cannot use savings in your JN Long-term Savings Account account to secure loans from JN.  You can only use savings in select JN contractual savings accounts to access a Term Share loan such as the High Yield, Direct Gain, First Class and JN Prime accounts.

Can I open my JN My Future account at a JN MoneyShop?

Yes you may visit any JN MoneyShop to open your account from Monday to Friday. However, we do not open accounts on Saturdays. Visit our Contact Us page or choose convenience and apply online.

What benefits from the JN Group do I have access to when I open a JN Long-term Savings Account account?

Your JN Long-term Savings Account account gives you access to a wide range of discounts at other companies within the JN Group, such as the Jamaica Automobile Association and JN General Insurance Company; and you can use your JN card to access up to 20% discount from close to 200 merchants who are a part of our JN Merchant Discount programme.
