Who we are
The JN Bank Canada Representative Office serves as a bridge connecting Canada with Jamaica.
Through our Toronto office, Jamaicans in Canada can remain connected with their homeland and confident that they are contributing to their country and loved ones, while also benefiting from financial products and services, domiciled in Jamaica, that provide them with security and financial freedom.
Established in 1991 following numerous requests from Jamaicans living in Canada who wanted to maintain their relationship with then Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), the JN Canada Representative Office continues to thrive, not only keeping linkages between Jamaica and Canada alive, but supporting Diaspora communities.
We serve through education, financial empowerment, social enterprise, health and safety, as well as youth leadership and development, support various initiatives and host seminars to keep Jamaicans in Canada informed and positioned to build wealth and care for loved ones at home and in Canada.

The Chief Representative Officer
Since March 2023, following her appointment as Chief Representative Officer (CRO) at the JN Bank Canada Representative Office, Paulette Sterling has been leading efforts to reconnect with the Diaspora community, create brand awareness and advance the business of JN Bank.

Performance driven, with a strong commitment to learning, building teams and exceeding business goals, Ms Sterling joined what was then the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) in 1993. Her years of experience with the JN Group has equipped her with the institutional and key competencies for the role of CRO at JN Bank’s Toronto Representative Office.
She worked with JN Money Services in the UK as Territory Manager for three years (2011-2014) and on her return to Jamaica in 2014, she rejoined JNBS as Senior Manager, Business Development and Research, where she supported the transformation of the building society. She was appointed Head – Strategy and Special Projects in 2017 for JN Bank, to aid in the smooth transition from the building society to a commercial bank, and in 2019 took up the role of Senior Manager – Group Talent and Performance Management in the JN Group People and Culture department.
Ms Sterling holds a Master of Science degree in Organisational Leadership and a BSc in Business Administration (Finance major), as well as professional certification in Organisational Development. She continues to serve in leadership capacities supporting youth and performing arts programmes within her church community. She also contributes her time to a girls’ Home in St Catherine each year.
